Sorry I’m late, I took the scenic route to get here.

I started out as a mechanical engineer designing new products in CAD and building prototypes. It was the job that school prepared me for, but I felt unfulfilled and eager to take on a whole new challenge. So, I joined the Navy and spent six years leading teams, traveling the world, and communicating critical information as an Intelligence Officer. After I had my fill of adventures I left the Navy to start a family and work at an undersea robotics company.

In reflecting on what aspects of these different experiences I enjoyed the most I realized that presenting complex information visually was a common throughline. I decided to pursue this in earnest, and completed the Data Analytics & Visualization graduate program at the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2023.

I’m interested in applying the skills and perspectives afforded by my journey to create charts, maps, infographics, and interactives that explain the world around us.
